It's been a long time since the Seattle Mariners have given their fans something proper to cheer about. After all, it's been more than 20 years since the organization's last playoff appearance.

The Mariners made major strides last season, winning 90 games for the first time since 2003, but it wasn't enough to secure a postseason experience. However, any Mariners fan hoping that their club could build off that during the 2022 MLB season is bound to feel disrespected by FanDuel Sportsbook's American League West odds.

Mariners AL West Odds 2022

FanDuel Sportsbook is giving the Mariners +500 odds to win the AL West in 2022. Although those odds aren't the worst, they're still behind the Houston Astros (-170) and Los Angeles Angeles (+400), the latter of which is more surprising considering how Seattle finished ahead of them last year.

The Mariners spent the offseason making moves to help them make the playoffs this season. Their biggest move was signing lefty ace Robbie Ray to a five-year contract worth $115 million contract. He's the reigning AL Cy Young winner, so Seattle is trusting him to live up to that hefty deal going forward.

Outfielder Julio Rodríguez could also be a key to the Mariners' success. The MLB's No. 3-ranked prospect has 18 total bases, two home runs and six RBIs in 25 Spring Training at-bats with a .360 batting average, which is impressive with his highest level of playing coming in Double-A so far.

Rodríguez is expected to join the Mariners at some point this season if he isn't on the Opening Day roster. Regardless, whenever he does make his MLB debut, he has the potential to help the Mariners achieve their AL West goals.

The Mariners boasted a 47-29 record against their divisional rivals last season, which was only two wins fewer than the Astros (49-27). If Seattle can have a similar performance in 2022, the AL West title may not be out of reach.
