The 2022-23 NBA season continues on Monday, Oct. 24 with another exciting slate of games. One matchup to keep an eye on is a showdown between the Orlando Magic and New York Knicks. The Magic desperately need a win after losing 126-120 to the Boston Celtics on Saturday, marking the former's third straight loss to begin the season.

Meanwhile, the Knicks rebounded from their season-opening loss with a 130-106 win over the Detroit Pistons on Friday. It was a well-rounded team effort for New York as five of its players finished between 15 and 20 points on the night.

Magic vs Knicks Prediction & Pick

The Magic have had some major struggles out of the gate to begin the new season. One thing that's hurt them is their inability to hold onto the ball, being tied for the fourth-most turnovers per game (14.5) this season. Unfortunately, Orlando simply doesn't have the high-end talent to balance out those giveaways.

The news gets worse for Magic fans as the Knicks average the 12th-most points off turnovers (18.5) this season. It's also a tougher New York team than in previous seasons now that the backcourt has Jalen Brunson, who's averaging 16 points and 7.5 assists through two games, opening the floor more in the process.

Five Orlando players have already been ruled out for the game, so winning will be even harder for the Magic. With momentum on New York's opponent's side following their most recent win, the Knicks are primed to win this one in front of another packed Madison Square Garden crowd.

Final Score Prediction: Knicks: 117 | Magic: 105

Magic vs Knicks Betting Trends

- Orlando is 0-6 straight up in its last six road games.
- New York is 5-1 against the spread (ATS) in its last six games.
- The total has hit the under in seven of Orlando's last nine road games against New York.
- The total has hit the under in five of New York's last seven games.

Magic vs Knicks Best Bet

Last year's Magic-Knicks series didn't involve much offense whatsoever. The two sides met four times during the 2021-22 season, resulting in an average total of 209.8 points. Furthermore, Orlando and New York didn't even combine for more than 220.5 points in any of those meetings.

With the Magic being seriously shorthanded and the Knocks not exactly having the highest-quality offense, I'm inclined to back the total finishing under 220.5 points here.

Bet: Under 220.5 Points (-110)
