Jamal Adams Injury Update Takes a Turn for the Worse

Even the Seattle Seahawks' thrilling Week 1 victory over Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos can't overshadow the bad news surrounding Jamal Adams on Thursday. Adams suffered a torn quad during Monday Night Football.
Already feared as a lengthy injury, Adams' latest update took a brutal turn for the worse for head coach Pete Carroll and his staff.

According to reports, Adams will undergo surgery to repair his torn quad, ending his 2022 NFL season just one game in. He will be placed on IR with Teez Tabor, who was signed off the Atlanta Falcons' practice squad, taking his spot.

Seahawks News
Adams is the clear anchor of Seattle's secondary, evidenced by his three Pro Bowl appearances and one All-Pro nod.
The former No. 6 overall draft pick joined Seattle via trade from his former team, the New York Jets, back in 2020.
Despite playing in just 23% of the defensive snaps in a little more than one quarter of Monday's game, Adams' presence was felt. The All-Pro talent tallied 3 solo tackles, 1 QB hit and 1 pass defended in that short amount of playing time.
Unfortunately, this continues a disappointing trend for Adams' tenure with the Seahawks. He hasn't been on the field for more than 12 games in either of his first two seasons and his 2022 campaign ends after one game. Keep in mind, that this is just the second year of a four-year extension Adams signed back in 2021.
