In one of the most surprising moves of the offseason, the Carolina Panthers have released Cam Newton, instead opting to sign Teddy Bridgewater. The former league MVP in 2015 is available on the open market, but there's not a lot of concrete news as to where he could land.
So let's take a look at the odds, provided by FanDuel Sportsbook, to help understand where the No. 1 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft could sign this offseason.
Odds to Sign Cam Newton
Interestingly, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Miami Dolphins are tied (+250) for the best odds to sign Newton. Of those two, the Jaguars have a young, viable option at quarterback in Gardner Minshew, while the Dolphins are likely going to draft a passer near the top of the first round. Neither of those two look like an ideal landing spot for Newton right now.
Following that pair, the Los Angeles Chargers (+300) and New England Patriots (+500) come in with the third- and fourth-best odds. Both franchises just lost future Hall-of-Famers, and it wouldn't be much of a surprise to see Newton land with either.
Rounding out the rest of the teams, the Washington Redskins and Denver Broncos are tied at +750, while the Las Vegas Raiders (+1200) and the Pittsburgh Steelers bring up the rear at +2000.
With so much movement this offseason, these odds will surely continue to shift as this story progresses.
