In the spirit of March, the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play is taking 64 golfers and having them face off in a tournament-style format. While it's not exactly the same as the NCAA Tournament, eventually one winner will be crowned after a series of seven rounds of match play.
With an elite field set for this event, let's take a look at three players to consider when putting together your fantasy team this week.
Fantasy Golf Picks This Week
Justin Thomas is playing some great golf right now. Coming off a win at THE PLAYERS Championship last week, he capped off a string of great golf all season. In fact, in his 10 starts this season, he has nine top-15 finishes, five top-10s and four top-fives. In short, he's been dominant -- and many times against a great field, including his win last week. Ranking top-5 in Strokes Gained (SG): Approach The Green, SG: Tee-To-Green and SG: Total, Thomas is in a great position to be atop the leaderboard once again this week. He also finished fourth in this event in 2018.
Paul Casey is on a string of great starts as well right now, coming into this event on the heels of four straight top-10 finishes. With multiple Ryder Cup appearances and starts in this event, the format is one Casey knows well, and has had success with. Coming in at a cheaper price tag than Thomas, Casey has placed in the top-10 at this event in two of his last three starts here.
The least expensive of the three on this list, Cantlay is no slouch and has shown time and time again he can run with anyone on tour. While he missed the cut at THE PLAYERS, in his eight starts prior to that he had seven top-20 finishes, four top-10's, three top-threes and a win. He's only played this event twice, and finished 24th and 17th, but currently ranks top-10 on tour in SG: Around-The-Green, SG: Tee-To-Green and SG: Total.
