Ezekiel Elliott Mired in Worst Stretch of His Football Career Since His Freshman Year at Ohio State

Ezekiel Elliott is still one of the best running backs in the league, without question. He's been uncharacteristically slowed over the past four weeks though, as he hasn't had a single 100-yard rushing performance during that span after being held to just 71 yards against the Buffalo Bills in Week 13.

In fact, this is the first time Zeke has gone four consecutive games without a 100-yard output on the ground since 2013 – when he was a freshman at Ohio State.

To be fair, this stat is far more impressive than it is damning. The fact that he managed to keep this streak alive through the first three years of his NFL career is ridiculous.

Additionally, three of Zeke's last four opponents (the Patriots, Vikings and Bills) are currently top-10 defenses, per Football Outsiders' DVOA rankings, so a slight dip in production was to be expected.

Things won't get much easier for Zeke any time soon though, as he'll face the Chicago Bears (No. 6 per DVOA) in Week 14, and the Los Angeles Rams (No. 3 in run defense DVOA) in Week 15.

Of course, a player of Zeke's caliber is more than capable of overcoming some tough matchups. Keeping that in mind, we'll just have to wait and see whether or not he can turn it around before the end of the season.
