The Kansas City Chiefs have released two-time Pro Bowl left tackle Eric Fisher. Even though he suffered a torn Achilles in the AFC Championship Game, this move comes as a bit of a shock. The move did clear over $11 million in cap space, which is crucial for the cap-strapped Chiefs.

Fisher should generate plenty of interest around the league – even if he is likely to miss a good chunk of the 2021 campaign. Here are the three most likely destinations for the 30-year-old LT in free agency.

Eric Fisher Free Agent Destinations Following Chiefs Release

3. Kansas City Chiefs

Yes, the team just released him. But it wouldn't be too much of a shock to see the two sides agree to a team-friendly deal. Fisher has played the best football of his career over the past three seasons, but that Achilles injury could keep him from signing the deal he's looking for. If he's forced to take a pay cut anyway, he might as well do it with a team that gives him a shot at a ring.

2. Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts lost long-time LT Anthony Castonzo to retirement this offseason, but Fisher could be a nice gamble for the team to take. If Indianapolis can find a suitable starter while he remains on the shelf, signing Fisher could be a way to nab a Pro Bowl-caliber talent without breaking the bank. That should allow Indy to spend big at the skill-position group to give Carson Wentz as much help as possible.

1. Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers need upgrades all over the offensive line, but left tackle is a particularly notable weak point. Last year, former sixth-round pick Sam Tevi checked in as the No. 73 tackle among 79 qualified players. If they don't address the position in the NFL Draft, Fisher would offer a significant upgrade over Tevi, even if he's still a bit hobbled by the injury.
