The Philadelphia Eagles have rattled off three straight wins since their lone loss of season, and are looking to make that four straight when they visit the New York Giants in Week 14.

Fortunately, the defense is getting a huge boost ahead of Sunday's NFC East clash.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported the Eagles have officially opened cornerback Avonte Mddox's 21-day practice window. He's been stuck on the injured reserve with a hamstring issue since Week 9. Philadelphia has 21 days to activate Maddox to the active roster or he'll go back on IR for the remainder of the year.

Maddox has dealt with a variety of injuries this season but would step back into a starting slot corner role upon his return. Despite playing just six games, Maddox owns 27 combined tackles and 1 interception.

The Eagles haven't released word if Maddox will be able to suit up on Sunday. Either way, Phiadelphia is considered a 6.5-point road favorite per NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook. Winning Sunday moves the Eagles' record to 12-1.
