Doug Pederson Reveals Surprising Role in Eagles Offense for Jalen Reagor to Start 2020 Season

NFL teams have been conducting "virtual offseasons" so far, which hasn't given their rookies many opportunities to gel with their teammates.
For Philadelphia Eagles first-round pick Jalen Reagor, even when the offense does get together in person, it could be a gradual process to earn a starting job.
#Eagles coach Doug Pederson offered updates on several topics this morning, including:

In a conference call on Tuesday, Eagles head coach Doug Pederson revealed that the Eagles plan to bring Reagor along slowly. While they hope he will eventually develop the versatility to move into the slot, they will focus on playing him exclusively in one role on the outside to start with.
And in playing that role, he'll start off behind DeSean Jackson, who is set to return from the foot injury that cost him most of the 2019 season.
Jalen Reagor Projections
Jalen Reagor's projections for the 2020 season include 700.5 yards and 4.5 touchdowns, based on the prop bets available on FanDuel Sportsbook. He wouldn't necessarily need to be a Week 1 starter to reach these marks, but he would need to eventually work his way ahead of Jackson (or Alshon Jeffery) on the depth chart.

Eagles fans will likely hope to see Reagor get significant playing time soon, especially considering the team spent a first-round pick to draft him, but you could certainly do worse than learning from one of the best wide receivers in franchise history.
