Dolphins Get Great Will Fuller Injury Update

The Miami Dolphins signed former Houston Texans wideout Will Fuller V to a one-year contract earlier this offseason to add another threat to the team's passing game. Unfortunately, the Dolphins haven't gotten to see much of Fuller in action as he's missed the past three weeks with a lower-body injury.

Well, Dolphins fans got some great news on Sunday as the Miami Herald reported that Fuller will be ready for Week 2 of the 2021 NFL season. The only reason why he can't play in Week 1 is that he's still serving the last of a six-game suspension from 2020.

Will Fuller Injury Update

Miami wanted Fuller to be as healthy as possible before they put him into an in-game situation. After all, he showed the Texans that he could be a No. 1 wideout when healthy last year as he put up 53 receptions for 879 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns in 11 games last year. With DeVante Parker being the only Dolphins wide receiver to surpass 400 yards (793) last season, the team needs Fuller to be the player that he was last year across a 17-game schedule in 2021.

Nevertheless, it's understandable if Fuller's injury issues this offseason have fans concerned for the upcoming season. After all, his injury history hardly does him any favors. Fuller has never played a full season in his five-year career, missing 25 of his last 64 games. Considering how some of Miami's other wide receivers have been dealing with injuries this month, the team can't afford to lose Fuller or their other big-name pass-catchers for a significant period of time.

The Dolphins shocked a lot of people last year by going 10-6 and just missing out on the playoffs. The Dolphins currently have +3200 odds (14th-best) to win Super Bowl 56, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
