Updated (Monday, Dec. 7, 2:25 p.m. EST): In addition to DJ Moore, Curtis Samuel has also been placed on the COVID-reserve list. He appears to have a better chance to suit up than Moore, who is also dealing with an ankle injury. If Samuel plays, he should be a low-end WR2 in Week 14. If both Moore and Samuel sit, Robby Anderson should be viewed as a top-15 WR on volume alone.
Carolina Panthers wide receiver DJ Moore has been placed on the COVID-reserve list. Compounding that news with the fact that he hurt his ankle in Week 12, and Moore appears to be a long shot to suit up this week.
Assuming he's out, Robby Anderson and Curtis Samuel could be looking at big spikes in value against the Denver Broncos in Week 14.
Robby Anderson Fantasy Outlook
Anderson was on a tear at the start of the year, but he's quietly fallen off recently. He was averaging 16.6 PPR points per game over his first seven appearances, but that number has dropped to 12.3 over his last five games.
With Moore out, Anderson should see more than the 8.5 targets per game he's averaged in that time. A good chunk of those are likely to come on high-leverage, downfield throws, as both Moore and Anderson excel as deep threats.
Even with a tough matchup against a Broncos' defense that ranks top five in Football Outsiders' passing DVOA metrics, Anderson checks in as a rock-solid WR2 with legitimate WR1 upside in Week 14.
Curtis Samuel Fantasy Outlook
Samuel has been red hot lately, finishing with double-digit PPR points in six of his last seven appearances. That stretch includes three 20.0-point PPR performances, and he's averaging 16.5 PPR points per game during that span.
That pace would have him as the WR14 in PPR formats – one spot ahead of Allen Robinson – had he maintained it over the full course of the season.
Samuel has been playing like a legitimate WR2 option over the past seven weeks, and Moore's absence should raise both his ceiling and floor in Week 14.
