Deshaun Watson Speaks Up in Support of Will Fuller

The Houston Texans' offseason trade of star wideout DeAndre Hopkins opened the door for wide receiver Will Fuller to become Deshaun Watson's primary option. The Fuller-Watson connection has been one of the lone bright spots during the Texans' struggles this season.
Watson is adamant that his team should pursue a contract extension with Fuller.

It's a big deal when a star quarterback publicly supports one of his receivers, and it could lead to friction if the Texans don't pursue bringing Fuller back.
Fuller has thrived in Hopkins' absence, leading the team in receptions (53) and placing 11th in receiving yards (879) this season. Fuller's 8 TD grabs have him tied for the sixth most in the league. The wideout's standout performance of the season came in Houston's last game, when the receiver went off for 171 yards (on only 6 catches) and 2 TDs on Thanksgiving against the Detroit Lions.
However, Fuller's recent suspension has halted his career year and will keep him out of next season's opener. It's not the greatest impression to leave on a team in a contract year, and surely Watson knows that, so the QB is doing all he can to make sure one of his favorite receiving options returns.
