Colts News: Carson Wentz Embraces Redemption Road in Indianapolis

Recently, the first odds came out for the NFL Comeback Player of the Year award on FanDuel Sportsbook. New Indianapolis Colts quarterback Carson Wentz checked in at No. 5 on the list of favorites with his +1000 odds.
Throughout the entire 2021 NFL season, the idea of a comeback will weigh heavily over Wentz. It's just part of his mantra after the way things ended with the Philadelphia Eagles. Well, the 28-year-old gunslinger is fully embracing his redemption road in Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Colts News
"I really feel like I have a new passion for the game. I've been high, I've been injured, I've been, now, benched, I've been traded, I've kinda seen a lot in five years, so whatever the game throws at me, I'm ready."
- Carson Wentz
His summary is pretty spot on. From leading his team to 13 wins (11 wins himself) during the 2017 season and an eventual Super Bowl title, to getting injured, benched and then traded -- it was a long five years in Philadelphia. Ultimately, Wentz found himself in a new city and heading the quarterback for a new team.
The 2017 was by far the best of his five-year NFL career. In 2017, Wentz went 11-2 as a starter while throwing for 3,296 yards 33 touchdowns to just 7 interceptions. Then came the injury that sidelined him for a Super Bowl run. Unfortauntely for Wentz, it seemed like the writing was always on the wall after the way Foles performed during that playoff run.
In his final three years with the Eagles, Wentz went just 17-21-1 as the starting man under center before rookie Jalen Hurts took over. But, he's got a new home with the Colts and a whole lot of talent around him, particularly on the offensive line. Every other spot on the Colts' roster is playoff ready.. Barring injuries, the Colts expectations will likely hinge on the performance of their new quarterback.
Wentz is ready for that challenge. Right now, the Colts own the best odd (+110) to win the AFC South on FanDuel Sportsbook. They also own the 10th-best odds to win it all in 2021 (+2500). Only time will tell what sort of narrative the NFL sees around Wentz following a big challenge next season.
