We're only a few weeks into the college basketball season, but the national title scene has already started taking shape. And the names at the top of the betting odds are many of the names you expect to be there in any given year.

Blue-blood programs are leading the way early on, with the Duke Blue Devils and Michigan State Spartans both tied at +800 to cut down the nets in April, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Right behind those two, the run of college basketball royalty continues with the Kentucky Wildcats (+900), Louisville Cardinals (+1100), North Carolina Tar Heels (+1200) and Kansas Jayhawks (+1400).

Kentucky remains near the top of the betting odds despite dropping to No. 9 in the AP Top-25 Poll following a historic upset home loss to Evansville, 67-64, on Nov. 12.

Last year's champion, the Virginia Cavaliers, check in with the seventh-best odds at +1600. Oregon and its impressive recruiting class register tied for the eighth-best odds with the Maryland Terrapins at +1800. The Florida Gators have the best odds of any unranked team at +1900 (10th-best).

The nature of the NCAA Tournament shapes the college basketball betting landscape a little differently than football. It's far from a guarantee that one of the four top seeds in the tournament will walk away with the title. This puts much less emphasis on the timing of a loss, or losses in general, as the season carries on, knowing that come March, madness can take over.
