The Kansas City Chiefs will aim to make their third straight Super Bowl appearance with a win over the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship game. Their offense may be getting a key piece back from injury as running back Darrel Williams is trending toward playing on Sunday afternoon.

Darrel Williams Injury Update

Williams missed the Chiefs' Divisional Round win over the Buffalo Bills with a toe injury and remains labeled as questionable. Reports claim he is feeling much better this week, though. The fourth-year pro was a full participant in Wednesday's practice before logging limited action on Thursday and Friday.

Having Williams back on the field would be a huge boost. Overall, the LSU product rushed for a career-high 558 yards and added 452 yards through the air in 2021. Williams also led the backfield with 8 total touchdowns.

Backup Jerick McKinnon filled in during the Divisional Round and finished the game with 78 total yards on 15 touches. His role could be reduced if Williams is able to return, though. The Chiefs will be looking to take advantage of a Bengals' defense that allows 4.4 yards per carry on the season.

Keep an eye on Williams during pre-game warmups. Head coach Andy Reid sounded confident that he will be able to give it a go. Kansas City heads into a matchup against Cincinnati as 7-point home favorites and have odds set at +125 to win the Super Bowl, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
