The Arizona Cardinals are going through a big transition period within the franchise. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury was fired earlier this offseason after four years at the helm, and now Johnathan Gannon steps in as the new head coach and is building out a new staff.

Kyler Murray Injury Update

On top of that, frnchise QB Kyler Murray suffered a torn ACL last season and is still recovering from that, with a return timeline that's still up in the air. Although, Cardinals owner Michael Bidwell did provide an update recently on Murray's potential return date, claiming his return date would be earlier than midseason.

Murray last played on December 12, 2022, in Week 14. a 12-month recovery timeline has usually been the norm for ACL tears, but in recent years we have seen the boundaries of that timeline pushed, even as far as around nine months.

The Cardinals might not want to rush Murray back, but if they hope to have any chance at competing in the NFC West next year then Murray will have to be under center for as many games as possible.

Coming off a new huge extension, Murray sounds like he will be in Arizona for a long time, and the last thing the Cardinals need is for this injury to happen again, expect them to tread lightly despite what they are saying now.
