Milwaukee Brewers star Christian Yelich has been out of the lineup since April 11 following a back injury suffered against the St. Louis Cardinals. After heading to the injured list, Yelich was sent to Milwaukee for an MRI given his stalled recovery progress.
However, Brewers manager Craig Counsell has some positive news on the outfielder.
Christian Yelich Injury Update
Counsell didn't have much to report from the test on Yelich, which is good news. It'd be concerning if the team found something unexpected in the MRI that could keep him out for an extended period of time.
Milwaukee seems intent on working Yelich back, so it's just a matter of the injury healing on its own rather than needing any kind of procedure at this point.
The Brewers have stood strong with Yelich sidelined, going 7-4 with him out of the lineup. Milwaukee has weathered through injuries to Yelich and Lorenzo Cain, among others, to currently lead the NL Central with a 12-8 record.
They have risen in the latest World Series odds on FanDuel Sportsbook following their start to the season as well. Milwaukee is +2200 to win the World Series, and their odds could climb once they shake off the injury bug.
