Schedules for each of the 32 NFL franchises were officially released on Thursday night as excitement is starting to grow across the country. Football may still be months away, but the Buffalo Bills are already working hard to achieve their goal of winning their first Super Bowl title in franchise history.

When looking at the Bills schedule, a few marquee matchups stick out from the rest. These games are set to have major impacts on Buffalo's hopes for an amazing 2022 season. With that being said, let's dive deeper into the three make-or-break games for head coach Sean McDermott's team.

Buffalo Bills 2022 Schedule

1. Week 1: @ Los Angeles Rams (Thursday Night Football)

The reigning Super Bowl champions always host the first game of the season, but pitting the Rams against the Bills should make for a heck of a start. Both of these teams ranked within the top six teams in both points per game and total DVOA rating in 2021, which showcases how balanced each one is. Fans could be in for a shootout or a defensive battle. No matter what, getting off to a 1-0 start would be huge for the Bills considering they face a pair of AFC contenders in the Tennessee Titans and Miami Dolphins in Weeks 2 & 3. Beating the Rams on their home turf would be a great way to get momentum building in the right direction.

2. Week 6: vs. Kansas City Chiefs (4:25 p.m. ET)

Buffalo wants to head into its Week 7 bye feeling good about where they are at on the year. The only way to do that is by taking down the team that has eliminated them from the postseason in each of the last two years. The Bills welcome the Chiefs to Highmark Stadium in Week 6 for a highly-anticipated afternoon matchup. Quarterback Josh Allen will be looking to replicate the success he had against Patrick Mahomes during the 2021 regular season when he passed for 315 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 38-20 win. Bills Mafia will surely be rocking and could end up making a real impact on the game.

3. Week 18: vs. New England Patriots (TBD)

The Bills were able to hold off the New England Patriots in the AFC East division last season by just one game. Seeing a Week 18 matchup between the two be the difference between winning the divisional title and being a potential Wild Card team wouldn't be surprising at all. Buffalo has posted a 4-4 record against New England over its last eight games against them and knows how head coach Bill Belichick is able to find ways to keep his team in the game. Keep in mind there may even be a bit of extra motivation in this one for NE after the Bills crushed the Patriots during the 2021 playoffs by a score of 47-17.
