Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks appear to be at odds with each other, leading to trade speculation this offseason. One team that makes sense as a landing spot is the Chicago Bears, who made Wilson's list of preferred destinations if he is traded.

A new rumor regarding the Bears escalating trade talks has added further fuel to the fire.

Independent Bears news site DaBearsBlog claims that a "formal trade offer" has been submitted by Chicago to the Seahawks. They say this is significant because it signals that the Bears think a trade is possible, rather than just a pipe dream.

Now, there's no telling if this report is actually true, but it does fall in line with the other noise surrounding a possible Wilson-to-Chicago trade. Sometimes trades come out of nowhere, and other times there are signals before a deal is made.

With the Bears on Wilson's wishlist and the team in desperate need of a true franchise QB, it's possible (and even likely) the two sides are talking. But if the Seahawks are starting to budge and showing they'll consider a trade, it opens the door for Chicago to land the disgruntled star quarterback.
