There was some intrigue given the franchise and Riley opted for an official arbitration hearing over their $250,000 gap in initial figures. Either way, this was Riley's first arbitration hearing. The 25-year-old slugger is eligible for three more arbitration periods before hitting unrestricted free agency after the 2025 campaign.
Riley hasn't been quite as productive in 2022 as he was in his 2021 breakout season, but he leads the Braves in both home runs (7) and runs scored (16) while his 14 RBI are just 1 behind Travis d'Arnaud for the team lead.
The Braves will also hold official arbitration hearings with Adam Duvall, Max Fried and Dansby Swanson.
