Angels Get Good News on Anthony Rendon Injury Update
By Max Staley

The Los Angeles Angels spent a good chunk of cash to bring in Anthony Rendon, signing him to a seven-year, $245 million contract. The former Washington Nationals slugger has lived up to the hype in LA, for the most part.
He's currently on the 10-day Injured List with a knee contusion, but it sounds like he could be coming back pretty soon. In fact, Rendon has a real shot to suit up against the Boston Red Sox on Friday.

3B Anthony Rendon (knee contusion) is doing light baseball stuff. He maybe could play this weekend in Boston.
RHP Chris Rodriguez (shoulder) is working out in the gym but not throwing yet.
Rendon was placed on the 10-day IL retroactive to May 4, meaning he'd first be eligible to come back on Friday, May 14. It's still far from a lock that he returns when he's first eligible, as he may still need a day or two off, but Angels manager Joe Maddon made it sound like a real possibility.
Joe Maddon said it’s “not out of the question” that Anthony Rendon comes off the IL when he’s eligible and the team is in Boston.

Tony Watson is also really close to coming back when eligible.
Hopefully Rendon can get back on the field soon, as his Angels have gone 3-4 during his seven-game absence.
