Tennessee Titans wide receiver A.J. Brown hit another level in 2020 and set career highs across the board. It was an impressive year, made even more notable by the fact that Brown had offseason surgery on both knees.
The procedure was just a cleanup, though it appears another knee injury has popped up for the wideout and that's potentially troubling for the Titans as the regular season approaches.
AJ Brown Injury Update
Brown was notably absent from drills this past week when Tennessee held joint practices with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and he sat out their preseason tilt on Saturday. It's been revealed that the receiver is dealing with a knee injury that has sidelined him, though he's expected to be good to go once Week 1 rolls around.
At face value, this appears to be good news. The injury doesn't seem to be anything to worry about. But taking his offseason surgery into account, it's enough to be concerned. Knee troubles are nothing you want your star wideout to deal with, and you'd hope his offseason cleanup would've put those behind him.
Brown and Julio Jones will be key cogs in the Titans' offense this year, but the latter is also dealing with an injury ahead of Week 1. Jones is already coming off of a year plagued by injuries and is now entering his age-32 season.
Hopefully these minor ailments from training camp don't carry over into the regular season for either receiver. This duo could be key to lifting Tennessee to serious contention in 2021.
