Life has been tough for Melvin Gordon owners over the past few weeks. After being one of the best players in the NFL over the first 12 weeks, Gordon went down with a knee injury and has now missed three straight games. His injury occurred right as the fantasy playoffs were about to start and surely torpedoed a team or two in the process.

However, Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson have both played well in Gordon's absence and anyone who was able to pick them up as handcuffs might still be alive for a championship in Week 16. For those that are still alive, there's some very good news on the way.

Gordon will almost certainly be back in Week 16 -- he almost played in Week 15, which means you'll have Gordon for the all-important Championship game. Of course, these are empty words for anyone who was knocked out while Gordon was injured, but if you survived, you now have an incredible opportunity to take the title.

Before going down Gordon had 153 rushes for 802 yards and 9 touchdowns as well as 60 targets, 44 receptions for 453 yards and 4 touchdowns. His worst fantasy performance of the year was 15.4 points, every other game was 18 points or more. Even if he's not completely 100 percent, he'll provide a jolt to your championship lineup.

We'll have to wait and see if Gordon can help guide his NFL team to a championship, but he has a pretty good chance of helping win a few fantasy titles next weekend.
