The Yankees might not head into the playoffs shorthanded after all.

After reports that the torn cartilage in Didi Gregorious' wrist was a  potential season-ending injury, the Yankees' shortstop has been cleared to resume baseball activities, effective immediately.

Prior to the injury, Didi was batting .268 with 27 homers, and 86 runs and RBI. His potential addition back into the Yankees lineup simply lengthens their batting order and strengthens their defense up the middle.

Gregorius will likely play in a couple of games this weekend in preparation for the Wild Card game against the A's.
