NFL Draft Odds: Big Shakeup Between Mac Jones and Justin Fields at No. 3 to 49ers

The 2021 NFL Draft officially starts with the San Francisco 49ers at No. 3 as the first two picks are all but decided at this point. San Francisco made a bold move to trade up to the third overall selection, although who the Niners want between the trio of Mac Jones, Justin Fields and Trey Lance at No. 3 is still unclear.

However, there's been a noticeable shift in the odds as April 29 approaches. Fields is now the -125 favorite on FanDuel Sportsbook to be Niners' selection with the third pick. This is a huge shakeup that now sees Jones in second at -105.

Fields and Jones were initially tied in the odds to be the No. 3 overall pick. But in recent days, Jones was the betting favorite to be selected by San Francisco. Draft experts and rumors kept tying the two together, making the pick seem inevitable.

However, this rise in Fields' odds is notable. He wowed once again at his second pro day on Wednesday, and he made an intriguing change to his mechanics that seems to be inspired by Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan.

No one truly knows who San Francisco will select. The odds say it'd be no surprise if Fields or Jones are the pick, but Trey Lance (+650) isn't out of the question either. The 49ers have everybody in the league talking, which shows how well they've kept their preference under wraps so far.
