The Green Bay Packers were on the cusp of making their third straight NFC Championship when a horrible special teams gaffe cost them the game. The San Francisco 49ers blocked a punt during the fourth quarter and returned it for a touchdown, tying the contest before eventually going on to win it.

It was just another mistake made by a special teams unit that constantly cost the Packers points throughout the year. One NFL fan even went as far as creating a video highlighting all the blunders from this season alone. Not only is it hard to watch, but it goes on for a whopping 30 minutes.

Packers Special Teams

Everything you can think of that can go wrong is in this video. Poor coverage that led to huge kick return plays, muffed punts that led to turnovers and missed extra points were just a few that stick out. The worst part may be the fact that every Green Bay game on the schedule is featured in some way.

The Packers ranked 31st among the 32 NFL squads in special teams efficiency during the regular season, according to ESPN's Football Power Index. The team also went through two different long-snappers and saw veteran placekicker Mason Crosby miss a career-high 9 field goal attempts.

Keep in mind that each of the last seven special teams coordinators for Green Bay have either been fired or forced into retirement. When it comes down to it, the Packers have to improve in that area of the game before the 2022 season starts if they want any shot of getting back to the Super Bowl.
