Veteran offensive tackle Riley Reiff has been a starter for the last four seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, but was recently released due to his substantial cap hit in 2021. Reiff shined during the 2020 season, allowing just 21 pressures and 1 sack while committing only 1 penalty in 15 games played.

The Vikings now join a number of NFL teams in need of addressing some holes along the offensive line. That should be a top priority for them this offseason. With that being said, here are three tackles the Vikings can target to replace Reiff.

1. Rick Wagner

While rumor has it Rick Wagner may be considering retirement, he is a veteran offensive lineman that the Vikings should target in the offseason. Wagner is coming off of a year in which he filled in for the Packers over the second half of the 2020 season due to injuries. He showed he still has a few years of reliable play left in the tank and could bring a lot of knowledge to a Minnesota team that ranks among the youngest squads in the NFL. The Vikings do not have much cap space to work with, so aiming to sign short-term players like Wagner may be their best strategy.

2. Samuel Cosmi

Samuel Cosmi enters the 2021 NFL draft as a bit of an underrated offensive lineman prospect. He is full of natural athleticism and is one of the most experienced players in the draft. Cosmi started 35 games during his college career over three seasons as a starter for the Texas Longhorns. His upper body strength and overall length will transition to NFL play rather easily and he could be a starter for the Vikings right away. He isn't a perfect prospect and will need help working on his flaws, but this would be a great pick for Minnesota and presents an easy way to replace Reiff along the line.

3. Christian Darrisaw

The Vikings own the No. 14 overall selection in the 2021 NFL draft and could use it to select Christain Darrisaw. As one of the highest-ranked offensive lineman in the draft, Darrisaw played amazing in 2020, allowing zero sacks, zero hits, and just 6 hurries over the entire season. The Virginia Tech Hokie will need time to adjust to the increased level of play the NFL presents, but he has the intangibles needed to start from day one. His consistency and overall power makes him a perfect fit in Minnesota. Don't be surprised if his name is called early in the first round.
