DeVonta Smith burst onto the college football scene this season as he finished with 1,856 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns to take home the Heisman Trophy. He helped guide the Alabama Crimson Tide to a National Championship and now looks ahead to the NFL as he declared for the 2021 draft. He has a real shot at hearing his name called within the top 10 selections in April.

A number of NFL teams are in search of a franchise WR. With that in mind, here are three likely teams that will pick Smith in the 2021 NFL Draft.

1. Miami Dolphins (No. 3 Overall)

The Dolphins could opt to reunite quarterback Tua Tagovailoa with his former college teammate by selecting Smith in the NFL draft. Miami could use some depth when it comes to the wide receiver position as it has struggled to find a reliable No. 2 option to line up alongside DeVante Parker. Plus, Smith's ability to run almost any kind of route would be a huge benefit in helping develop Tagovailoa into the franchise QB the Dolphins believe he is. Selecting a WR as high as No. 3 overall is a huge risk, but it could be worth it here.

2. Philadelphia Eagles (No. 6 Overall)

Another team in major need of help at the wide receiver position is the Philadelphia Eagles. After making headlines throughout this offseason, the Eagles now look towards to the draft in order to get younger as a team. The team has proven that mentality by recently releasing veteran wide receiver DeSean Jackson. Philadelphia is in desperate need of a dynamic playmaker on offense and Smith fits that role perfectly. His ability to rack up yards after the catch is what makes him one of the most intriguing draft prospects this year. Drafting him at this spot would create an exciting young duo with Jalen Reagor.

3. Detroit Lions (No. 7 Overall)

The Detroit Lions could easily be looking to the draft to help fill their holes at wide receiver. Starters Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones Jr. are both free agents now and it isn't likely the team will be able to bring either of them back. That leaves a lot of targets to be accounted for and drafting Smith is one way to solve the problem. New starting quarterback Jared Goff could use a wide receiver that can take short routes and turn them into 20+ yard plays. Smith excels at that part of the game and could step into an immediate No. 1 receiver role if he gets drafted by the Lions.
