Dusty Baker Provides Positive Update on Yuli Gurriel Following Wednesday's Early Exit

We live in a time where whenever someone shows symptoms of being sick, it can be pretty scary. So, you can only imagine how the Houston Astros and their fans felt when first baseman Yuri Gurriel left Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Angels because he was "feeling sick."
Upon hearing that news, it was easy for people to be worried that Gurriel might have COVID-19. Fortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case.
Astros manager Dusty Baker provided a positive update regarding Gurriel's status on Thursday, saying that his first baseman is "fine."
Dusty Baker said Gurriel is fine. He's going through health and safety protocols, but has already been cleared today to work out. Baker said it's not COVID-related, as far as he knows. He's vaccinated.

Yuli Gurriel Injury Update
There was definitely a sigh of relief when Astros fans heard that Gurriel was going to be okay and that his exit wasn't COVID-related. After all, he's a fan favorite in Houston and has been with the organization for his entire career, beginning in 2016.
The Cuban first baseman has also been a big factor behind the Astros being 20-17, sitting second in the AL West. Through 132 at-bats this season, Gurriel has 7 home runs and a team-leading 30 RBIs. He's also accomplishing this while slashing .333/.411/.576, with his batting averaging being tied for fifth-best in the entire MLB.
The Astros currently have +1800 odds to win the World Series, which is 7th-best, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. If Houston wants to turn those odds into a reality, they'll need Gurriel to continue being as healthy as humanly possible.
