The New York Yankees have had a busy offseason thus far, although not as busy as most fans would have liked. Although, the offseason still isn't over. Since the signing of Carlos Rodon, the Yankees have put a ton of attention toward their farm system, from singing players to build up its depth to hiring new scouts and front office personnel, and now, on Friday, hiring a new manager for the Triple-A affiliate Scranton Wilks-Barre Railriders.

Yankees Hire Shelley Duncan

A familiar face will be the new head honcho in Scranton this season, former Yankee Shelley Duncan. Most Yankees fans will probably remember Duncan, he became a fan favorite in his short time with the Pinstripes.

Duncan spent the first three years of his seven-year career with the Bronx Bombers, although he mainly came up and down form the minors and never played more than 34 games in a season with the Yankees.

He was a late bloomer, coming in as a 27-year-old rookie in 2007, which tunred out to be his best season, playing in 34 games and slashing .257/.329/.554. He endeared himself to Yankees fans with seven home runs in those 34 games.

Now, he gets a chance to come back to the organization that brought him into the Majors and manage the set of guys next up to be Yankees stars.
