The 2022 French Open tennis tournament is less than two weeks away at Roland Garros. The Grand Slam event runs for two weeks from May 22 through June 5 in Paris.
The odds to win the women's French Open tournament on FanDuel Sportsbook paint 2020 French Open champion Iga Swiatek (+195) of Poland as the early favorite. She has the edge over 2018 winner Simona Halep (+700) and Spaniard Paula Badosa (+1200).
Last year's longshot winner Barbora Krejcikova (+1400) of Czechoslovakia has moved up as a leading challenger in 2022. Swiatek was last year's French Open favorite, but she lost in the quarterfinals to Maria Sakkari, who became the highest-ranked female Greek player this year at No. 3.
Krejčíková and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova were the combined lowest ranked Major finalists (numbers 33 and 32, respectively) in last year's French Open since the introduction of computer rankings began in 1975.
Night sessions will be incorporated into the French Open for the second straight year including for Rounds 1-4 and the quarterfinals May 31-June 1. The semifinals are June 2-3 with the women's final on June 4.
