Who Was Voted Into the Baseball Hall of Fame?

The Baseball Hall of Fame is preparing to announce the results of the Baseball Writers Association of America (BBWAA) voting on Tuesday, giving MLB fans the long-awaited announcement of the newest inductees.

2022 Baseball Hall of Fame

There was one player elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame via the BBWAA voting. Boston Red Sox legendary DH David "Big Papi" Ortiz was voted in. He received 77.9% of the votes.

2022 MLB Hall of Fame Ballot

This year's ballot includes 30 names, headlined notably by popular names of the era including Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, David Ortiz, Curt Schilling and Scott Rolen.

Alex Rodriguez and Big Papi Ortiz will be making their first appearances on this year's ballot. It'll be interesting which of these notable players, marred by the steroid era scandal, can overcome the vote and punch their tickets to baseball eternity.

The Hall of Fame voting reveal can be watched live on MLB Network on Tuesday, January 25 at 6 p.m. EST.

Who Made the Baseball Hall of Fame?

Last year, the Baseball Hall of Fame voted zero players into the Hall of Fame. Schilling came closest to enshrinement at 71.1% of the vote.

Players are eligible for the ballot after five years of retirement. and need a minimum of 75% of votes to earn their Cooperstown plaques. If a player does not received at least five percent of the ballot, they are dropped from next year's ballot, and those who remain between 5 and 75% can stay on the ballot for 10 years.
