It's only been a few weeks into the 2021 MLB season and the Chicago White Sox are already proving that they're one of the best teams in the American League. They've won seven of their last 10 games and sit 1.5 games back of first place in the AL Central with a 12-9 record.

MLB.com has taken notice of the White Sox's recent play and has given them a boost in their latest power rankings. Last week, the team ranked No. 10 but has since seen an increase to No. 6.

Even if they aren't the AL Central leaders, the White Sox are even ahead of the first-place Kansas City Royals (No. 7) on the power rankings. If they can keep up their play, there's no reason why the White Sox can't pass them in the actual MLB standings.

The White Sox have been an offensive juggernaut this season, averaging 5.14 runs per game (T-4th) on a 0.261 team batting average (2nd). They're also limiting how often their batters strikeout, averaging just 8.43 strikeouts per game (6th). What's remarkable is that they've done this despite all the injuries they've faced. As long as the White Sox batters keep seeing the ball as well as they have, they'll keep making opposing pitchers pay.

According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the White Sox have some of the best odds to win the World Series at +1300, good for fifth-best in the MLB.
