Week 7 Fantasy Picks: Start 'Em, Sit 'Em for Panthers vs Giants

The Carolina Panthers will look to bounce back with a win in Week 7 when they go on the road to take on the struggling New York Giants. FanDuel Sportsbook has the Panthers slated as slight 3-point favorites in a game that is sure to have fantasy football implications.
If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's some start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 7 NFC showdown.
Sam Darnold Fantasy
Start Sam Darnold, QB, Carolina Panthers: It's been an up-and-down first six weeks for Carolina Panthers' quarterback Sam Darnold. The 24-year-old's hot start led the Panthers to a 3-0 record, but he has struggled ever since. However, this is the perfect matchup for Darnold to turn things around. The Giants give up the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing QBs and have posted Football Outsiders' 11th-worst pass defense DVOA rating. Overall, the Giants have allowed 14 passing touchdowns in 2021, which is tied for the second-highest mark in the NFL. Look for Darnold to put together a solid performance in Week 7.
Sterling Shepard Fantasy
Start Sterling Shepard, WR, New York Giants: Wide receiver Sterling Shepard returned from a hamstring injury in Week 6 and picked up right where he left off. The young pass-catcher hauled in 10 of his team-high 14 targets for 76 yards. He has now seen 9 or more targets in three of his four games played this season. He also played in 91% of the offensive snaps, which shows that he is back to full health. Despite the tough matchup, Shepard is worth a start given the lack of depth the Giants have right now. He should see a ton of targets with Kenny Golladay still labeled as questionable to play.
Robby Anderson Fantasy
Sit Robby Anderson, WR, Carolina Panthers: Fantasy managers rostering Robby Anderson have to be frustrated at this point. The speedy wideout has seen 29 targets over the last three games, but has hauled in just 10 of them for a total of 87 yards. Anderson has posted a poor 37.5% catch percentage this season and is averaging just 4.8 yards per target. Simply put, he cannot seem to get on the same page as Darnold when running deep routes down the field. While everything lines up for Anderson to have a breakout game soon, it's not worth the risk to start him on Sunday.
Devontae Booker Fantasy
Sit Devontae Booker, RB, New York Giants: Running back Saquon Barkley remains questionable to play on Sunday against the Panthers. No matter what, starting Devontae Booker is not a smart option this week. Booker is averaging just 3.0 yards per carry this season and draws a tough matchup in Week 7. The Panthers are giving up the fewest PPR fantasy points to opposing RBs and have allowed a ball-carrier to score a touchdown just 2 times this year. Booker could be in line to see double-digit carries, but he hasn't rushed for over 42 yards in any game this season. Keep him on the bench for now.
