The Kansas City Chiefs will aim to challenge for the AFC's No. 1 seed when they travel to take on the Denver Broncos in Week 18 NFL action. FanDuel Sportsbook has the Chiefs slated as heavy 10-point favorites in a game that features some of the biggest names in fantasy football.
If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's some start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 18 showdown.
Darrel Williams Fantasy
Start Darrel Williams, RB, Kansas City Chiefs: Projecting how many touches players will get in Week 18 matchups is always hard. However, it is pretty safe to say that running back Darrell Williams is set to see some work on Saturday. With starter Clyde Edwards-Helaire not 100% healthy, Williams could see double-digit carries against a Denver defense that has posted the 11th-worst rush defense DVOA rating in the NFL. Keep in mind that the fourth-year pro is averaging 5.7 yards per carry over the last two weeks and scored 2 touchdowns in the Chiefs' Week 17 win. Williams is an underrated name to watch out for this week.
Noah Fant Fantasy
Start Noah Fant, TE, Denver Broncos: Denver's lack of offensive firepower has not impacted tight end Noah Fant from a fantasy football perspective. In fact, the former Iowa standout is coming off one of his best games of the season. Fant hauled in 6 of his 7 targets for 92 yards and 1 touchdown in Week 17. The Broncos remains thin at wide receiver and that should allow Fant to act as quarterback Drew Lock's go-top passing option. It's noteworthy to point out that the Chiefs have given up the 13th-most receiving yards to opposing TEs this season (881) as well as 10.6 yards per completion (No. 26 in NFL).
Clyde Edwards-Helaire Fantasy
Sit Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, Kansas City Chiefs: Avoiding Clyde Edwards-Helaire this week lines up exactly with what was said about Williams. The Chiefs are massive favorites in this game and could end up sitting their starters in the second half. Edwards-Helaire is nursing a shoulder injury that kept him out of action in Week 17 and needs to be healthy for a possible playoff run. That means he will only see limited carries in this game. After all, Denver is giving up the ninth-fewest PPR fantasy points to opposing RBs. It's hard to imagine head coach Andy Reid relying on his stud ball-carrier a ton this week.
Melvin Gordon Fantasy
Sit Melvin Gordon, RB, Denver Broncos: This backfield has become all about rookie Javonte Williams over the second half of the season and that does not bode well for veteran Melvin Gordon. Gordon has rushed for just 39 yards on 17 carries over the last two weeks and is only playing in about half of the offensive snaps. His time in Denver seems to be coming to a close as he is set to enter free agency in the offseason. Kansas City has only given up 6 rushing touchdowns to the RB position this season, which ties for the second-lowest mark in the NFL. That eliminates any upside Gordon has.
