The Las Vegas Raiders will look to bounce back after a narrow defeat in Week 11 as they travel to Atlanta to face the Falcons. FanDuel Sportsbook has the Raiders as 3-point favorites over the Falcons in this Week 12 matchup, which is surprising for a few reasons.
If you need some help with your fantasy lineup, here's some start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 12 Raiders-Falcons showdown.
Hunter Renfrow Fantasy
Start Hunter Renfrow, WR, Las Vegas Raiders: Hunter Renfrow is clearly situated behind Nelson Agholor in the Raiders' receiving hierarchy, but there should be plenty of room for both to have notable games against Atlanta. The Falcons are allowing the second-most receiving yards per game (300.3) to opposing offenses this season. Furthermore, Atlanta gives up an average of 43.63 fantasy points (PPR) to wide receivers, which is the third most in the NFL. Renfrow has proven he can be productive with targets, like in Week 3 when he turned 9 targets into 6 receptions, 84 yards, and 1 TD. Against a vulnerable defense, he should have an opportunity to produce similar results.
Russell Gage Fantasy
Start Russell Gage, WR, Atlanta Falcons: Russell Gage is primed to have a heightened role in Week 12 with star wideout Julio Jones dealing with a hamstring injury that could sideline him. Jones only saw 2 targets being forced out of Atlanta's Week 11 game, and it was Gage who benefitted most, seeing 12 targets (tied for his season high) and catching 7 passes for 58 yards. There's no word yet on Jones' status for Sunday, but he was clearly hampered by his injury. The wideout is averaging 7.3 targets a game, and Gage should immediately be in line to absorb most of those looks if Jones is unable to go or is held back by the injury in their Week 12 matchup.
Henry Ruggs Fantasy
Sit Henry Ruggs, WR, Las Vegas Raiders: Henry Ruggs gets that same dreamy matchup we just outlined for Renfrow, but he's simply not seeing enough volume to reliably take advantage of this spot. Neither is a target hog, but Renfrow at least has a few games with 6-plus targets this season. Ruggs has yet to see more than 5 in a game, and he hasn't even reached that mark since Week 1. His nadir came in Week 11, when he had just 1 target despite the fact that Derrick Carr threw the ball 31 times.
Matt Ryan Fantasy
Sit Matt Ryan, QB, Atlanta Falcons: Matt Ryan ranks as QB13 in fantasy points this season (PPR), but he and the team are reliant on wideout Julio Jones to open up the offense. With the possibility that Jones is either sidelined or not 100% in their Week 12 game, fantasy managers should look elsewhere for their QB needs. Ryan's three worst fantasy performances this season have come in games where Jones was inactive (Weeks 3 and 5) or limited (Week 11), averaging just 7.88 points in those matchups.
