The Carolina Panthers look to stay afloat in the NFC South when they travel to take on the Miami Dolphins of the AFC East in Week 12. FanDuel Sportsbook has the Panthers slated as 2-point road favorites in a game with playmakers on both sides of the football.
If you need some help with your fantasy lineups, here's some start 'em, sit 'em advice for this Week 12 showdown.
DJ Moore Fantasy
Start DJ Moore, WR, Carolina Panthers: DJ Moore is worth considering a start each and every week, simply because of the volume he sees in the Panthers' aerial attack. Moore owns nearly 40 targets more than any other wide receiver on the roster (102) this season. Christian McCaffrey's return hasn't slowed down his production, either, as Moore's seen 7 targets in each game since Week 9. The Dolphins rank just 21st in Football Outsiders' pass-defense DVOA metric, which adds to Moore's case a starter play.
Myles Gaskin Fantasy
Start Myles Gaskin, RB, Miami Dolphins: Miami has reemphasized the rushing attack on their current three-game winning streak, and Myles Gaskin has been at the center of it. Gaskin has recorded 57 rushing attempts during the past three weeks and the output is showing in the form of RB15 numbers. Carolina's defense has been trending in the wrong direction at stopping the run, allowing opponents 100-plus rushing yards in four of their last six games. Gaskin may not be a stud running back at 3.5 yards per attempt, but his 23 opportunities (19 rush, 4 targets) per game over the past three weeks make him worth the start.
Robby Anderson Fantasy
Sit Robby Anderson, WR, Carolina Panthers: Robby Anderson has been one of the biggest disappointments of the fantasy season, as evidenced by his WR63 numbers in PPR leagues. Anderson has seen a bit more action over the past two weeks with 12 total targets, but he hasn't been fantasy relevant this entire season. Fantasy managers may be tempted to test this momentum (WR27 since Week 10), but we'd advise against it. DJ Moore and Christian McCaffrey have both out-targeted Anderson since Week 10 and the Panthers offense (22nd in scoring) doesn't have enough juice to make all three relevant.
Mike Gesicki Fantasy
Sit Mike Gesicki, TE, Miami Dolphins: Mike Gesicki ranks second on the Dolphins roster in targets (76) and operates as TE4 in PPR leagues, but he's in for a tough test against the Panthers secondary. Carolina ranks fifth in Football Outsiders' pass-defense DVOA metric this season and allows the 10th-fewest PPR points to opposing tight ends. He's clearly a reliable option at tight end, but this is more a word of caution that Gesicki may be in for a down week.
