Thanks to the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign and recent run of injuries, Atlanta Braves star Ronald Acuna Jr. hasn't been able to play a full season since 2019. That hasn't stopped the young star from making two All-Star appearances in the last three years but it's left the Braves fanbase wanting more.
Acuna has an opportunity to flip this story back on track and recreate his 41-home run, 101-RBI and 37-stolen base season from 2019 when the new year hits 2023.
He's been working hard at maintaining his elite swing during the Winter, and coming up with a few new tricks up his sleeve.
Footage was recently revealed of Acuna swinging the bat from the left side (he's not a switch hitter). Check it out below.
In an effort to mimic Juan Soto, Acuna took this batting practice session from the left side. He pretty effortlessly smacked a lefty home run in this playful at-bat.
Just goes to show you what a talented hitter the Venezuelan star truly is.
The Atlanta Braves won't need Acuna to start swinging from the left side, but they could definitely use a full season of health and one in which he approaches those enticing 40-home run, 100+ RBI and 25+ stolen base numbers.
