As the football world approaches the 2021 NFL Draft on April 29, there's no shortage when it comes to conversations about teams potentially trading up to draft a certain player they have their eyes on.

The Washington Football Team is the latest team that has been rumored to possibly moving up in the draft. As it stands, WFT is entering the draft with eight picks, including the No. 19 selection in the first round. While the team did recently sign Ryan Fitzpatrick over the offseason, they still need to find a quarterback of the future.

However, the quarterback they want might not be available at No. 19. That's why NFL insider Michael Lombardi thinks that the team could trade up to draft Trey Lance out of North Dakota State.

If the Washington Football Team really believe that Lance is who they want to build their team around, they could trade any number of picks to move up several spots in the draft. Lance is expected to be one of the better quarterbacks in the draft, which is why WFT may have to pay a heft price to move up to get him.

Lance had an impressive showing at North Dakota State last season. In 16 games, he completed 66.9% of his passes for 2,786 yards and 28 touchdowns without throwing a single interception. Lance was also impressive in the ground game, recording 1,100 rushing yards while scoring 10 touchdowns.

The potential is there for Lance to have an impressive NFL career. As mentioned before, if Washington think he can turn their franchise around, we may see them pay an astronomical price to move up in the draft in the coming weeks.
