Vikings' Silence on Anthony Barr Injury Is Concerning

Injuries, especially on defense, plagued the Minnesota Vikings in 2020. Star linebacker Anthony Barr was chief among them, as he was sidelined for the rest of the year after suffering a torn pectoral muscle in Week 2.
He was expected to hit the ground running in preseason, but he's been held out of practice with little word on his status.
#Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr, who again missed practice Wednesday, has not practiced since Aug. 5, He and Mike Zimmer have declined to reveal the nature of his injury.

Anthony Barr Injury
The standout LB hasn't practiced since Aug. 5, putting his absence at the two-week mark.
Las Vegas Raiders star Darren Waller missed a similar amount of time to start training camp, but the team recently clarified he was out due to precautions, rather than something serious. Reassurance like that from the Vikings on Barr would be great to hear, yet head coach Mike Zimmer is remaining mum.
It's certainly concerning to receive radio silence on Barr's health, especially coming off of an injury-shortened year. The impact of the four-time Pro Bowler on Minnesota's defense when healthy is undeniable, and the team will need him at 100% if they're to have a bounce-back season.
The Vikings own -106 odds to make the playoffs this year, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
