As the NFL offseason continues and teams start looking towards next month's training camp, there are still some prominent names left in free agency. One of those happens to be 2014 Pro-Bowl defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson. Now, the latest rumors have the 30-year-old possibly reuniting with one of his former teams.

Minnesota-area writer Jack Day reported on Monday that sources told him that there's a possibility of a reunion between Richardson and the Minnesota Vikings. The former Cleveland Brown spent the 2018 NFL season with the Vikings, finishing the campaign with 49 total tackles and 4.5 sacks.

Minnesota Vikings Rumors

The Vikings are in the middle of trying to improve their defense this offseason after giving up an embarrassing 29.7 points per game (29th) in 2020. Considering Richardson's history with the team and the fact that he's about as reliable as they come (he hasn't missed a game since 2017), he could be a great fit in Minnesota.

Since arriving in the NFL in 2013, the former first-round selection has 461 total tackles, 31.0 sacks, 10 forced fumbles and an interception. He was also given an overall grade of 71.1 by Pro Football Focus in 2020, showing that he can still make an impact in his 30s.

FanDuel Sportsbook is currently projecting the Vikings to miss the playoffs for the third time in four seasons. Minnesota is available at -156 to miss the postseason and +128 to make it.

Bringing Richardson back into the fold might go a long way in helping Minnesota return to the playoffs in 2021.
