The Minnesota Vikings entered this offseason needing help in the secondary. Without a ton of cap space and a Justin Jefferson extension looming, though, the front office has been resigned to mostly bargain-bin signings in free agency.

Minnesota continued that trend on Monday by taking a chance on a recent second-round pick.

Vikings Offseason News

The Vikings signed cornerback Joejuan Williams on Monday, the team announced on Twitter. He's another addition at CB for Minnesota this offseason after the team also agreed to a deal with Byron Murphy in free agency.

Williams' NFL career hasn't gone as expected so far. He was originally the No. 45 overall selection by the New England Patriots during the 2019 NFL Draft but started just one game for Bill Belichick in three years. He then suffered a season-ending injury ahead of the 2022 campaign, which was the final nail in the coffin of his Pats tenure.

Though starts were hard to come by for Williams, he did play in a total of 36 games for New England and recorded 8 combined pass breakups. He'll provide some depth at the very least after the Vikings' CB room underwent a massive shakeup this offseason.
