VIDEO: Sam Darnold Looks Pumped About His Trade to Panthers on Instagram

The New York Jets officially traded Sam Darnold on Monday after months of speculation. Dealt to the Carolina Panthers for a package of three draft picks, headlined by a second-round pick in 2022, it represents a fresh start for the 23-year-old quarterback.

In a new Instagram video Darnold looks quite thrilled about his trade to Carolina. Walking into what seems like some sort of party or celebration of the trade, donned with Panthers colors and all, Darnold walks in all smiles.

Darnold was dealt a bad hand in his first three NFL seasons, surrounded by a lackluster talent pool around him, and an ever worse coaching staff the last two seasons. But Darnold didn't exactly do himself any favors either.

Despite this, many within the league are still high on Darnold's potential as an NFL quarterback and clearly Carolina is one of them.

Heading into a year where the Panthers will have to make a decision of giving Darnold a long-term contract, this could be a real make-or-break season for the former USC signal caller. The good news, he looks quite comfortable with that happening in Carolina.
