VIDEO: Remembering When Tom Brady Hit Wes Welker for the Longest Touchdown in Patriots History

Already up 31-17 in this one, the New England Patriots didn't do much but throw some salt in the wounds of the Miami Dolphins with this score. The historical significance was far more important, as the 99-yard pass from Tom Brady to Wes Welker became the longest touchdown in Patriots' history.
Brady must have liked the matchup Welker had from the get-go, because he looked his way from the moment he received the snap, lofting a perfect ball over the slot receivers shoulder on what looked like a nicely executed fly route.
Miami gets burned here, and burned badly, leaving little to no coverage help over the top. The New England offensive line also deserves its credit for holding up against a blitz. Brady does the rest.

The finished product turns out to be yet another moment where Bill Belichick and his coaching staff look like absolute geniuses, and the Dolphins fill the role of the dunces left taking notes.
When given the opportunity, Brady and Belichick will always go for the jugular, it's in their nature as fierce competitors. Miami must have forgotten that on this play, and because of that error, this moment will be remembered forever.
