Boston sports fans rejoiced back when Rob Gronkowski threw out the first pitch of the Boston Red Sox game to David Ortiz. Of course, Gronk threw it right down the middle.

We knew Gronk had some throwing experience, though it's mostly been throwing beers during a parade or spiking footballs after a touchdown. Still, it was one of the better ceremonial first pitches in baseball, which even Michael Jordan messed up.

Gronkowski was flying high at this point, after coming off a terrific season and being named the Madden cover athlete. Of course, the "Madden Curse" hit the New England Patriots tight end hard. He would miss half of the season's games, totaling just 25 receptions for 540 yards and three touchdowns.

Since then, Gronkowski has not played more than 14 games in a season. The tight end has also not played a full seasons since his second year in the league, back in 2011.

He hopes the year off and change of scenery to Tampa Bay will keep his body feeling right for the full season, hopefully getting back to the dominant Gronk and possibly winning Comeback Player of the Year.
