The ceremonial first pitch in baseball has become a very big deal. We have seen some surprisingly great pitches, but also some embarrassingly bad ones. This group of Florida student ensured their success by creating a catapult to throw a perfect strike.

There's probably a joke here to make about the Miami Marlins needed to sign this group of students, but I won't go there.

Science Day down in Miami asked students to create a catapult to throw a perfect strike, which is how this group found their way to the Marlins game.

Even superstar athletes can botch a first pitch, so it was great to showcase the prior work that went into this catapult instead of watching the nerves get to yet another failing ceremonial pitcher.
