The Houston Texans were widely criticized for sending DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for David Johnson and a second-round pick. While the deal will still likely favor Arizona in the long run, it could look a lot better if Johnson performs like he used to.
At his peak, Johnson was one of the best offensive weapons in the NFL, full stop. Take a look at what he did to the Philadelphia Eagles back in 2015.
Johnson runs through the teeth of the defense and manhandles about five would-be Eagles' tacklers. He then turns on the jets and breaks free for a crucial touchdown.
That combination of power and speed served him well, but he's also a dynamic threat as a pass-catcher. In 2016, Johnson had one of the most productive RB seasons ever, tallying 2,118 yards from scrimmage and 20 touchdowns.
If he looks anything like he did in this video, Houston may have finally found its franchise running back.
