VIDEO: Remembering When Carlos Gomez Tried to Brawl the Entire Pirates Roster After Jawing With Gerrit Cole

Sometimes, you simply can't let something go. That has proven a common pattern in baseball that has repeated itself during exchanges between batters and pitchers seemingly forever.

In this case, whatever it was that then-Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Gerrit Cole said, it obviously struck some sort of personal chord with Milwaukee Brewers center fielder Carlos Gomez after he arrived at third base.

It was enough to inspire Gomez to take on Cole's Pirate teammates in droves as he became enraged, looking for a pound of flesh.

At the time, Gomez probably didn't realize that he was in just about the worst spot on the baseball diamond to start one of these bench-clearing brawls, standing just feet away from the Pirates dugout.

Well, it's hard to say who "won" this little skirmish once the fists really started flying, but it's safe to say Gomez got the action he was looking for, at least.
