VIDEO: Remembering When Bradley Fletcher Annihilated Victor Cruz With This Vicious Body Slam Tackle

New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz had a short NFL career, playing just six seasons while accumulating stats in five of them. The receiver suffered a number of injuries, possibly because he took on some big hits, like this one from Philadelphia Eagles defender Bradley Fletcher.
After making the five-yard catch, Cruz was quickly met with two Eagles defenders. After fighting to stay upright, Fletcher helped to lift Cruz up and slam him down on the turf, hitting his shoulder and head.
Because his career was short, many forget just how good Cruz was. In his second season, he started just seven games. However, he caught 82 passes for 1,536 yards and nine touchdowns. He was a big play threat throughout his career, averaging 15.0 yards per reception.
None of that mattered to Fletcher, though, who was a strong player in his own right. He only played two years in Philly, but he recorded 131 tackles and 37 pass defenses in that time — which included a league-leading 22 pass breakups in 2014.

The Eagles made some big additions in the secondary this offseason, and fans in Philly will be hoping that they'll have some players contribute at the kind of level that Fletcher did.
