Say what you want about Terry Collins as a manager, but he was always well liked by his players. One major reason for that was he was always willing to stand up for them. The most famous instance of that might be his defense of Noah Syndergaard from this clip in 2016.

It's important to understand the context here. The year before, in a playoff series between the New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers, a hard (and questionably dirty) slide into second base by Chase Utley broke the leg of Mets shortstop Ruben Tejada.

Despite the fact that the Mets came out on top in that series, they held a grudge against Utley, who was already pretty disliked in New York from his days as a star player for the Philadelphia Phillies. Syndergaard took it upon himself to step up for Tejada, throwing a 99 MPH fastball behind Utley.

After an immediate ejection for the Mets pitcher known as "Thor," manager Terry Collins went absolutely berserk. The tirade eventually went viral, after new uncensored audio was released on the internet. Throughout the profanity-heavy rant, one thing was clear, Collins and the Mets did not think the MLB ruling was fair.

It remains one of the most bizarre and entertaining baseball rants we've seen in quite sometime.
